It is funny to me that you connect my useage of the word fundie or fundamentalist to be a description of YOU. I don't even know who YOU are!! I am not lumping you or anyone else on this board with the pink haired lady, but I THINK I should feel safe on this of ALL boards to use the term as I choose since I am not personally attacking anyone on BOARD. After all, there is the Journeys Board, which is christian centered. I don't feel a "part of" to post there. Even if I would be welcomed to, I would feel like the odd one out. I am not Christian. I am not religious. All the other boards specific to ex-members have a heavy Christian orientation. So, I think your toes feel stepped on because you experience the same discomfort I and many other exers might feel when there are Christ centered dialogues that just don't seem palatable to me or perhaps to other non-Christian exers. When someone uses the labels, for instance FGAs, they are categorizing all First Generation ex-members. And statements are made specifically to that group and by some categorically negative. That is a damaging use of a label, but when I use fundie as an adjective and make it very clear about just what that means to me, and you don't relate, then don't let it eat your lunch. People like ME do need a space to talk freely.
