I have that experience being the "odd man out". I've got some great friends, but I still haven't gone into details about having been in a "cult". I've mentioned to some that had joined a Christian community, and have been vague and general. Having been in the F for any long period of time makes a huge difference: being a F member was 24/7.... there were F doctrines, traditions, and ways of doing things for every aspect of our lives, which covered all our activities, and most of us adhered to all of it quite loyally. That whole F experience is still so much with me, and it's something I have not been able to talk to any of my friends about, except here on the board.
How many of you still have dreams about being in a F home somewhere, or being at a big F fellowship? Or dreams about getting corrected? Or being sent out fund raising by the shepherds who were staying home? Both myself and my wife have had a lot of dreams like the ones I mention above, plus all kinds of dreams related to former experiences in the F that are too numerous to mention. Anyone who wants to call them nightmares is welcome to.
