It’s not only me that gets insomnia from some of these vitamins and minerals but others as well. I get that information from books “Mind Boosters” and from articles I read on the internet. If you do a search on the internet for MSM I think you will find some of the same articles that I’ve read that talks about insomnia from taking too much. It may not happen to everyone. My sleeping problems have changed over the years. At first at age 29 I couldn’t get to sleep and that was caused from a roommate waking me up repeatedly at night making noise. I’ve read that if something wakes you consistently over a 2 week period it can trigger a lifelong insomnia. Well I work out really hard running and lifting weights. That ‘s what changed my insomnia from getting to sleep to staying asleep. I’ve read (on the internet and books) that men over 35 may start waking up at night from a decrease of melatonin produced by the peneal gland in the brain. As we age that problem occurs in preety much everyone. We produce less melatonin in the peneal gland causing us to sleep less. Too much of many different things can cause many different people to either not get to sleep or wake up earlier than usual sometimes way too much earlier. Vitamin B is certainly one of them. Too much causes insomnia. It seems a real shame that some of the things we take that help us in certain areas would cause a problem with sleep. It becomes a balancing act between trying to imporove one area of our health (skin or whatever) and not affecting sleep. The book “Mind Boosters” talks about many different things causing insomnia at least for the author of the book. Everyithing that affects him affects me too. I think you would find the book “Mind Boosters” fascinating. The author is “RAY SAHELIAN, MD”. You can order it from www.amaxzon.com.
The drug I take for sleep when all else fails is “SONATA”. It’s a prescription drug but does the trick. The things I normally take that usually work well are 1) Melatonin 2) Nutra Sleep 3) Calm Forte 4) If after all this I have trouble sleeping and I really don’t want to take the Sonata (if I’ve been taking it too much) I dring some wine
Here’s the ingredients of Nutra Sleep. You can find it at www.iherb.com and simply do a search on “Nutra Sleep”. I try and take only one per night but sometimes 2.
