Imbedded catastrophic thinking

I like that. Well, I don't like it, but it says a lot, "imbedded catastrophic thinking". Psychologists probably have a term for that. In the early days COG members used to pray for God to kill them if they left. Gee, I wonder why they'd pray a prayer like that.

Well, fortuntely those kinds of prayers stopped after a few years. People no longer prayed, "God kill me if I ever leave." They didn't need to. Their former friends and loved ones would now pray for their death.

Wow. That is truly psychopathic thinking. And the funny thing is, these were once healthy caring people and will BECOME caring people once again after they leave. David Berg's stamp of sociopathic insanity is not permanent, thank God, though it often caused lasting damage.
