Here's some more on what it was like trying to be a faithful CM member shepherd as a member of the home's "Teamwork".
In our home, and in many other homes: the teen, ya and sga's social activities were often amongst themselves & we FGA's did not interfere. When we did try to come down on the rules, then things went on behind our backs. This was happening in lots of homes. For example, we heard from one young person who was in Mary Mom's home in the Ivory Coast a couple of years ago, about how she got away with sneaking out at night to go to discos by herself.
That was the hardest thing for us to know what to do about: the young people in our home going out alone with "outsiders". So, we ended up being disobedient "shepherds" & disloyal "CMers" because we allowed it and did not lower the boom that to be CM meant that you always went out 2 by 2 when you met outsider friends and this would only be for the sake of witnessing. We did not warn or enforce "the disobedient get re-classified".
