I would suggest you go to movingon.org and read the articles posted there which are 99% from the second generation of ex-members and a lot of topics along the lines of how the Family affected them, how they have recovered, what stage they are at in their recovery, the long-term effects as well as immediate short-term effects they have had and are having to deal with. I could write about it as well, but so much has been said there and much better than I could say.
