I so much agree with you. I can't understand people who having been wrong thousands of times in a sequence of interpretations they still have the confidence that the current interpretation they have is the right one... until the balloon pops again just to repeat the cycle.
I have taught my children that a bit of skepticism is not only healthy but necessary. This is not only streetsmart survival skill but an important learning tool to not make the same or similar mistake over and over again. No wonder teachers have such great condemnation but one would expect they stop teaching the same stuff after awhile once they find out it was wrong in the first place.
If one man perfectly understood the Bible and told others, they would probably kill him, even crucify him. That is still happening today.
