Last night my family and I went to our annual ritual of watching the largest fireworks display in the world, held 30 minutes from our house.
Lo and behold who should be there but some 'missionaries from Africa' dressed up as clowns and making intricate baloons to be sold for about $5 a piece. My kids had no idea who or what they were, just some clowns selling baloons, and they desperately wanted a baloon. I had to refuse, nothing could make me give over my hard earned money to people who couldn't in all honesty even put the name of their mission group on their explanation cards (seeing they came from Africa and can't speak the local language).
At first I was bewildered, I mean, didn't they just have some big push in November about being witnesses in the name of the Family? Later I was angry that they are still so hypocritically covering up their true identities while pointing a finger at those of us who are free to be what we are and are not afraid of it.
Anyway, the fireworks was really great, the grand finale was so bright I had to shut my eyes for a second there, and we were as close as you could possibly get to the main show (along with about 2,000 other people).
