You know, questions are fine. Asking someone like Barney questions if fine. Seeing Laurel Home, or any "home" is fine. Being investigated is fine. But, what does it mean? It means NOTHING.
The Family, or any cultic group, is great at all of these things. They can all answer your questions (with a loving smile on their face.) They can all get some sort of license. They can all be tax-exempt. They can all be examined by officials and the public. IT MEANS NOTHING.
Ex-cult members have been there. They know how to scam. They know how to say the right words, and how to act properly, and how to get the right license and get around the law.
What you are saying , Joseph, isn't proof that Barney and "Heart to Heart" is OK. There's no proof in your puddin'. It's just your observations. And your observations may be wrong, just as all of our observations were wrong when we joined the COG.
It goes on everyday! Cults lure people in because they "look right."
Look at the fuit of the Famly, Joseph. How different is Laurel Home or "Heart to Heart" any different that the Family?
I'm not saying they aren't different. I'm not saying that Laurel Home or Heart to Heart has anything to do with the Family.
I'm only pointing out that your observtions could possibly be flawed. That maybe, just maybe, there is more behind the smiles, the testimonies, the licenses and the public opinion.
