In Response To: Re: re question repost from below (Rocky)

rocky, that is exactly the answer and insight i was seeking. i do hope it blessed others as much as it did me.

i do believe that the scriptures are an amazing source of stregnth to those who suffer. (consider the testimony of someone like corrie ten boom, for example.) but i also believe that they are capable, as jesus said, of ministering either life or death. it may well be that almost anything one says on the subject in this forum is likely to be "read into" because of what each reader brings to the board. i actually agree w/ your analysis of how one may approach an exmem ...and i don't think i have said anything to the contrary here, altho' i am often confronted w/ reactions to things i did not say. it becomes clearer to me, that i can be of little use in these discussions, as anything i say, no matter w/ how many disclaimers, is read as some sort of nazi sympathizer w/ bodies in my basement. geez, i'm not doing all that well myself to begin my day w/ that on a regular basis. being an ex-catholic too, i guess i can accept it as penance, and hope it gets me a few days off of purgatory.

for me the scriptures and the savior they reveal, "full of grace and truth"...are my only pearl of great price. it is only natural to want to share them w/ folks whom i can indentify w/, and can even say LOVE,(one thing i did emerge from the family w/ is a love for some very amazing people.) but as it seems counter productive, perhaps it is best to leave it to the Lord to bring any good news, from a source less likely to be misunderstood or to become an issue themselves.
