ray,

thanks for turning the other virtual cheek. :) it gives me the chance to write another post.

I know you are a very nice person. Of all the people one hears about in the F your name was NOT ever associated or mentioned - in my experience - in connection with atrocious acts, and there is much to say for that about who you are.

Sometimes I feel that the 'heady' (in other words, intellectual, mental conversational approach about bible theory on certain topic) leaves out the fact that these issues are very EMBODIED. They are deeply steeped in blood, tears, shame, guilt, pain etc, and the aseptyc conversations on verses can appear paradoxically unsympathetic in their exchange.

I would not have posted this if the repost had not been up here. I am starting to think that exmembers who are interested in what the bible says about such matters take an internship with Rocky (who does a good job of explaining the abc of such ordeals) or some mental health/social worker who have to professionally take care of these issues day in and day out - that would be useful as it would at least make sure people KNOW what we are dealing with.

After so much talk (years) still there is denial. My case is not unique. There are many of these atrocious cases. But they are silenced by omission and commission while the leadership and the individuals are responsible for them. Many of these cases happened in a group you also were a leader for a long time.

I would be curious to know (and this is not tricky on my part) how you feel about having been a part of all of this, supporting and upholding practices that others used to wreck the lives of so many. It was a leader that sent into my home the sicko who assaulted my children. (there had been already a report on his child molestation, and it was disregarded) It was a leader (Rodent) that when I reported the horror minimized the issue saying, "well it is just sex, and sex is in the Letters."

Well sex is in the bible too, so what? but what can justify such ignominious behavior, such crimes?

So, I would like to hear your personal reflections on that, if you have any, and if you would like to share them here. We are not on such a different page, in my opinion. Discussions become interesting when there is some stimulation.

Peace to you as well,

marina
