Plus, I think he calculated that it added to the mystery of him since there was no mystery and he was nothing but a bag of hot air. He wanted to create that air of specialness about him, the prophet, you know, busy hearing from God, blah, blah, blah. DB used us, he used that youthful enthusiasm and explosion to his own advantage. True, we didn't need him to love Jesus. Maybe we needed someone to guide us because we were ignorant of the bible, true, we let him be that person. It was a bad choice.
