When I first came back to the U.S., I got in touch with the small business administration to help set me up in business. My business failed but I met a very interesting man who tried to help me set it up. He was one of the original Canadian soldiers who first came upon Bergen Belsen. I learned first hand how awful it was from him. He had taken the time to accumulate dozens and dozens of photos and he went around to all the middle schools in our area showing the kids what the Nazis really did. You could hear a pin drop. The kids were in total shock. Unless people like him keep the memories alive and strive to get the message to the people, people like Berg will re-write history. I've heard the Holocaust museum in Washington is incredible and you can't get in - there's always such a line. That's a good sign.
