He went through similar things at 19. I too thought I had lost the good-hearted intelligent son I had raised. So what could I do? Not much, I visited him in jail and most of all, I prayed desperately day and night and called on all my friends to join me in prayer. Of course,the in the end, the choice is up to the individual. I do believe in the verse, train up a child in the way that he should go and he will not stray from it (how does it go?), eventually, they will remember what they were taught and return to that. My son eventually broke down and prayed to God to deliver him from jail, when that happened, he gave his life in service to God and is an active christian now in a christian band. I really thought I had lost him forever and was beside myself with what I could do. It's a horrible thing for a mother. My heart goes out to you and I will keep you and your son in my prayers. Do visit him and write him, he needs to know you love him even if you don't approve of his lifestyle and criminal acts.
