It's good to hear the other side of things other than what we were fed in the Family as the Family line. Matt, that IRFers Beware lit just freaked me out, and I'm not the only one. When my sister left the group, she was 17 or so, she couldn't even sleep in a room alone for fear God was going to do something to punish her. I have pleaded often with God since leaving the group and warned him that
If He is going to punish me for leaving the group, then punish me and me alone, don't take it out on my kids, cause if He did take it out on my kids, it wouldn't work, it would only drive me further away from Him.
And how present Family members can defend such heartless and cruel judgements on this situation and say, "Well, Berg is the prophet, he must know she deserved it" (I've had this told me by present members), I don't know, it really really gets me going and pissed.
Anyway, Matt, I for one do appreciate hearing how that SR writing affected you personally, thanks!
