He may write from a source which is from his own personal morality, and he may in some cases get some information that is incomplete, and act on it before having all the evidence. THAT I DO NOT KNOW.
But there does SEEM to be a pointed EFFORT by different posters to discredit him as a whole. Here are some common tools of certain "cults":
Dredge up any possible dirt and embellish the bejesus out of it to discredit the individual as much as possible. (And very few human beings are without some sort of skeleton in their closet.)
Barrage an exer site or internet with posts, articles, etc. to stir up animosity and confusion amongst exers. (Versus more sincere personal variences in opinion, objectives and goals)
When someone is getting too close to the hornets nest, they will go all out to destroy their "enemy".
To effectively (attempt to) destroy an "enemy", his or her weaknesses need to be considered and then ATTACKED.
From this perspective Sam would probably do well to personally communicate with individuals that seem open-minded to him and not out to get him, in order to sharpen up his efforts. This is, however, his choice.
For what it is worth, I appreciate much of what he has done.
