Really fascinating stuff, Alan. It makes sense, if you think about it--from the Native American perspective, the doctrine of preemptory strikes is nothing new. You might also argue that during the period of colonial settlement and western expansion, First Nation peoples were viewed by our government as terrorists, inasmuch as they terrorized white settlers.

In my mind, the difference between a terrorist and a freedom fighter is that the terrorist attacks unarmed civilians, while freedom fighters attack military personnel.
