You make a good point, assuming what the Israelis are doing to the Palestians is genocide. Many people would argue that what Israel is doing doesn't rise to the level of ethnic cleansing. Is that how Amnesty International characterizes the situation?
A couple of folks I work with have asserted that this recent conflict and land grab is about access to potable water. I suspect that controlling the water in that part of the world is a matter of great importance. I've looked for articles on water resources in Palestine/Israel, but haven't come up with anything yet.
As far as homelands are concerned, I thank my higher power every day that I live in the USA--even with its flaws, my homeland is a sweet place to be. When we fight over water rights, we do it in the courts.
