I can say society was different back then and has obviously evolved. I grew up in the deep south being born in Alabama in 1952. I was at first raised with a very slanted view of black people, I could possibly say a generational curse. That's the way people in the south were raised then. From my limted research Jefferson was a bit better on the subject of slaves than others. I don't condone but I understand. He that is without sin let Him cast the first stone!
