The emphasis for me was on wanting it...desiring it... seeking it.
The saintly Marie Ruben's stance on not wanting to get divorced from her unfaithful husband (both parents of the famous painter)

It's in my eyes maximal a concession, a possibility, to get separated/divorced, with hopes and prayers, that the errant
mate comes back to his/her senses...repenting/metanoia...not as the possibility to marry anew...it's overlooked by many...I assume also by your church you go to, last I visited their site (AOG) and also by mine...one fact, which does not make me seek the full membership among other minor points...marriage is a picture/symbol of Christ's deepest engagement with HIS believers...a true believer wishes to be separated from HIM???And Christ wishes to desert us????
The exception clause in Mt. 5:32 and Mt 19:9 is highly overrated and must be seen in context with the other remaining scripture, other verses on the subject...then final divorce and remarriage makes no sense...I invite you to prove the contrary.
