Many of them are made from plastic recycled bottles these days. We have one and it looks very much like jute or sisal.
We have so much exposure to plastics in our environment today, one can't help but wonder what kind of effects it will have, if any.
Many warn against using plastic because of the xeno (synthetic) estrogens that are found in them. Beware of future mutant plast-sapiens.
