That part had everything to do with Berg insisting he was the Endtime Prophet and fitting the last days and return of Jesus into his own personal schedule. You are right that this mother gave him such a swollenhead ego that he wrapped heaven and all life on earth around himself. Alas, a puny insignificant mortal he was, who had almost nothing to do with how world events transpired. He came went and all he left us was a pile of bones.... wait even those are hidden away......!! wasted lives and collateral damage.
