First, thanks for your answer. When you say you're growing up in the family wasn't all that bad, and that it wasn't or isn't a good place to raise children, can you speak more about this? I know when I left, I first felt something was wrong with me: Weak with me was how I felt since I left the group. There were ingrained doctrines from Berg, cascading down to Zerby later, that taught this and so I didn't realize all the damage done until I was away for long enough. It was the amount of control from the very top with missives passed down to lower rank and file, and clearly some were not as badly abused as others but abuse is abuse and the damages rolled downhill.

So, what are your reasons for feeling it wasn't that bad (meaning there were aspects you felt were bad for you) and why do you feel it was messed up to raise children there?

I have a laundry list of why I felt it was bad as a whole and a messed up place to raise children. But there must be some things you are realizing that can take son time to fully realize. Hoping you feel safe to talk about those aspects you mentioned as I am sure you would find a lot of validation here !
