My dad passed over the weekend and this was a song he would always sing to me since I was little. I've googled multiple parts of the lyrics, but nothing. The song is about a metaphorical card game between a man and "the devil" or something, and I just can't seem to remember all the lyrics or find any recorded version.
The first line of the song:
"I sat down to a card game on the day that I was born"
Here is the main chorus:
"I'm a survivor- I was born to fall and rise again I'm a relier- on a helping hand from an old and trusted friend I'll do what I can, and then I leave it in his hands That's the only way a loser wins"
Any help is welcome, I really hope to find this song. I assume it was an unpublished song written by somebody in the "family", I don't think he wrote it himself.
