I am glad your family got out when they did. TFI family values were not very savory (to say the least) behind the scenes. It could have been that your parents were more on the outskirts of the family which had different levels of security.
It sounds like you were separated from your family at times and that other adults “spanked” you. Probably for very minor things that were blown out of proportion and having all these different adults punishing you sounds pretty abusive to me.
The family was more politically correct on the outside but within had many levels of secrecy. I am very glad for you and your family that you got out. I got out when my kids were quite young too, but at a time of much more overt abuse. Glad your real family is a place where you feel safe!
