I do not know of affidavits in the beginning of the history of the group, but I do know and have seen affidavits later, during the early 90's when they wanted to attack and discredit the information ex-members were providing about the group's illegal practices and abuse of power.
Extensive use of affidavits was made then, mandating that just about anybody who knew or had known an alleged "backslider," (anyone who was trying to denounce the human rights violations to the media), write an affidavit putting that person in the worst possible light, reiterating also that they - of course - were in the group out of their own will and there was no form of coercion of any kind involved in their choice. I have seen such affidavits.
This was also the period of TFI cozying up to Scientology (that were and are big on legal retaliation), with negative waves of publicity in Japan, Latin America, etc.
I personally suspect, though, that there may also be other affidavits used in the early days, without the knowledge of the rank and file, because the way Berg's upper echelons operated was kept secret from the a lot of the people who were not part of the so-called royal family.
