I was in elementary school as well. During the Cuban Missle Crisis, I was very young and sirens went off by accident in my home town and everyone freaked, thinking an incoming nuke was on the way. My family turned beds upside down and I guess they tucked and covered their necks and left me alone since I slept through the whole thing, but I do remember those drills at school. Yes, our desks and the hallway would really have protected us. lol
When Kennedy was killed, I remember how devastated everyone was and the funeral was on TV for days, all day long.
Yes, it has been a long time, but I don't feel that old..
And who ever really had fun with a slinky? But they sure did sell those things.
