It takes one to know one.
Reading the Reboot series now, I can see the clear handiwork of brand-imaging consultancies, who use a very specific set of terms. Right from the onset, the term "Change Journey" is corporate-restructuring jargon.
Although they may have done so, it is unlikely P & M gained knowledge of these industry-specific terms by reading up on management how-to books. Many of the terms may seem generic, but are not general-usage terms. They are rather specific to the culture of certain management consultancies. You'd have to have been exposed to their corporate-speak to coincidentally use a whole bunch of them together that way.
And even on that word "culture" and the way in which P & M use it for self-referencing and organizational analysis, that is quite specific to certain image-consultancy and management organizations I know of, which are in the business of transforming failing companies, and remaking their image to counter the effects of bad press.
