I can't imagine the group of devoted adherants who identifies with their king and queen disbanding or the leadership agreeing to cut them off. Zerby believes she is God's appointed end-time prophetess, chosen from the foundation of all creation for her place in salvation history. That kind of narcissism doesn't let go of followers. Even if she doesn't need their money, who would she be without them?

I vote for a combination of both options, which LTE described as "fizzle out like a wet fart."
