the story had to be told. No debate there. But that doesn't automatically qualify it as good writing. I can understand that once it has entered a commercial format with all the backing and publicity behind it then higher standards are to be expected in the literary aspect. The other sisters write much better but you can't skip over to the them because they build on details from the first writer.
