You don't always have to use excuses to perpetuate the cycle of violence. I'm willing to bet you've hit your own children and thought it was the right thing to do, am I right? If I'm wrong, then you are one of the exceptions to the rule. That was the case for me anyway. I hit my children when there were much better solutions if I'd only had the patience, maturity and sanity to use them.
Dr. Joan MCord's studies/stats aren't the only ones out there proving the correlation and propensities. But a strong indicator and predictor of crime is not a 100% fail-proof determination that there will be crime or criminality. It never is. Nothing in life is like that.
I'll look into the stats later and see if I can find something.
