By now it kind of fits more & more the puzzle...putting together the pieces...the Gnosis often taught the same (although there were differing "schools") and after all, TF taught something similar, you can sacrifice your body in FFing...somthing you leave behind anyway, getting substituted by something better...although that is inherently Christian by substance, yet you do not take somebody elses' life, cause it has the "chance" of getting better in the afterlife, neither do you have to give up something of your life for something unlawful (also in Christian terms)...so that same scheme happens to work under the banner of several (all?) sects.
Funny though, how scientology is not seperating here clearly between soul & body...at least according to him & I am not so super interested in finding out, whether that's the official line...I just came to that site through a link via TOI...my favourite online newspaper so far.
