Wonderful, that you "get something out of our postings"...feels very nice too, to have you back & post...I guess I forgot a bit about all your circumstances & personal situation, so my comments were more general & the more I think about it, the more I get the impression, that may be you "pondered a lot" , what more you could have done, to help your son to have a fulfilled life.But from what I read, I think you can be very happy & proud, the way he matured/matures
It surely is a special blessing to be a complete & united family...current developments worldwide have it unfortunately, that that stability is declining since quite some time...marriage I am talking of...
plus if you add the horrors of an abusive cult, well then you have to make hard, seemingly unpleasant decisions, which are bound to hurt some...but I'd say, it's the healing sore/wound in a needed surgery...if you don't do it, the infection can kill.
Unfortunately people who are in TF cannot see that.That little bit of truth they have is inflationary blown out of proportion with a lot of false steam/hot air...they cling to that in hopes/conviction, to have something better laid up for them in heaven, therefore they can risk/give up about everything here...the battlefield is the mind & if they have not a iota of doubt & have these groupdynamics to keep'm going, well then you have to go the other direction.
On the other hand, I think it's right of you to be innerly ready for the remaining possibility, that your ex should the light one of these days...I would never dismiss that possibility...on the contrary, I would very much hope so & not give up on anyone, as long there is life, however it's probably no good to bedesperately waiting for it, getting conditoned by it...if it comes, wonderful, if not...
