Peace..nice, that you adopted the English word for Peace for peace's sake ; ) with the other (f) mir ...did I get it wrong or are we both non-US-Americans...
In Germany the liberals as a party cry the loudest for self reliance & the least state-involvement in finances & industry, yet those bankers who didn't want any tighter supervision here of the government in the past now cry for help...I think they're ridiculous, & that is not only the opinion of the socialists here.
We know, that TF is a American invention, some "American dream" of Berg...the pull of something "American" yet somewhat Anti-establishment/American was really great, also on me...but I do think that greed & religion go together real well in "all" countries, so to speak...religion has been always misused for great fundraising...& yes, Berg realised, that His sermons sold (we could have sold any "idiocy", the reason those pamphlets went out with lots of success was also due to us being sold out) and later that sex pays off...for me that is one reason, why also some persecution in some countries was relatively small, I think in the Philippines they had at times mighty protectors..., there were quite a few scandals of big business or politicians mixing "their business" with (non TF) sex-offers in many countries, not just mine.
On the other hand Berg always claimed, that we/he would only do that for a good purpose, while the world just did it for wordly gains...I really thought then, that he was highly altruistic in sharing "his wife"/actually mistress...I really sunk to that level...
In the west infidelity & sex mingled with business is something "normal"...as well as in many eastern countries...so there is actually not that much difference between the world and TF to be seen...and TF in many ways supercedes the world, including America in weirdness.
I am not so sure, whether you would get tarred & feathered, as you can claim freedom of opinion ; )
but then again, I know that many had the liberty to say what they wanted until they said it...in many countries.
