1) Many of the original followers of Berg were the ones who instituted sexual abuse (the implication is that it wasn't Berg's fault
2) Older people (the implication is FG) easily convinced younger people (the implication is SG and others) to be out of the spirit (in reference to anything that may have gone wrong)
