First of all, the site is is still in an early state of development and nowhere near being finished so it is a bit premature to judge it based on what's there now. I have been working on it in my spare time and am looking for volunteers to to help with content addition, research, data collection and fact checking. I was planning to post an announcement on various forums but hadn't gotten around to it yet.

Secondly, you seem to have a misconception about the purpose of the Lost Children memorial site. Its purpose is simple: to honor the memory of deceased individuals born and/or raised in cults. For a deceased individual to be included in the Lost Children memorial site, the only requirement is that they were born and/or spent all or part of their childhood (defined as the period from birth until age 18) in a cult.

If you read that carefully, you will notice that nowhere does it state that the purpose of the site is to assign "blame" or responsibility for any or all of these deaths to a particular cult. That can be very subjective and even in cases of suicide, murder and medical neglect, there are widely differing opinions on who can be held responsible or blamed for a particular death. For example, some people argue that the Remnant Fellowship Church and the parents of 8-year-old Josef Smith are not responsible in any way for his death in 2003. Others argue that beating an 8-year-old boy to death is murder. Regardless of which side is right or wrong, it is an indisputable fact that the child in question is now dead. The memorial site is simply about remembering these children. I believe they all deserve to be remembered and not just those who committed suicide or were murdered (either directly or by having their medical needs neglected).

If anyone has any information to add or would like to volunteer to help develop the site, please see

RISE International is planning a worldwide memorial day on August 10, 2008 to commemorate the deaths of children and adults born and/or raised in cults. RISE International and Safe Passage Foundation are working together to organize this event, which will be held in London (UK) Huntington Beach (California, USA) and Gulu (Uganda).

This website has been created to honor the memory of the Lost Children. It is still under development and we need your help to improve it.
