I have spotted and collected similar stories now over some time and it's heartbreaking, what is going on in the world (India that is), either in the name of love or against it, either way. As touching as many Bollywood-lovestories are, it seems still a long way to go, to convince many of the "right", to be "left" alone as lovers & mates...on the other hand in societies with less social securities (per insurance), a marriage is part of the elders (parents) social security system....besides the fact, that many/most still want to marry within the respective caste system.But in any case, to me the future belongs "mostly" to the younger ( the older ones should not die merciless) but it seems to me, that in some way they - the older - seem to envy the love/success and way of life of the younger...in any way it's wrong to retreat to bloody violence to express differences.
By the way, the ration in China of female to male is probably even worse, than the one in India, which is bad enough there, boys being favoured...in a report about some village in china, there were no females & by now, there is a "blossoming" traffic with abducted/kidnapped young woman, to make up for the bad ratio in China's one child per family society.
