From my own personal experience, one recovered memory regarding an incident of serious childhood abuse was not recovered under hypnosis (not to say hypnosis is not useful for some) and when I remembered it, I realized the memory was one that was buried and not one that surfaced as a known memory. Some aspects of it I still don't remember but have had validated by witnesses that were there when the incident occurred. So I realize how real memory can be buried, some parts too traumatic to deal with or how there can be mix up in chronology of events, especially where family is involved.
What I am glad about, regarding The Family, is that there is so much documented evidence- sort of like Nixon when he had all his conversations taped- that anyone questioning the veracity of stories of abuse concerning people coming out of that destructive cult, shows a blatant lack or even the least amount of investigation on their subject matter.
Thanks for another good article.
