I don't know, from time to time I hear people make pronouncements about how this or that was more common closer to leadership than out on the "field".
I agree that there may have been more variation among "field" communes, during some eras more than others. But there was plenty of child abuse in field homes, again, the type and prevalence varying by era (and perhaps country/area) but those of us who were abused are just as wronged.
Remember, leadership trained at the "top" was continually sent around to spread the virulence, thus even if you never lived with Berg, or even Juan (Juan Carlos Rosas, bigshot in South America) for example, Juan would roam around, checking in on the homes, making sure they upheld the "standard" and teaching people what he learnt about how "Mommy and Daddy" do it.
If it were limited to WS, with the relatively smaller population of children the number of the cult's child abuse survivors (and non-survivors)would have been much smaller.
