No views are being promoted. Someone asked a question and received a very honest answer. It may not have been an answer they wanted to hear but it was a very revealing answer. The writer wasn't justifying anything, just explaining a personally complex situation he was in, that not everything was crystal clear at the time. Our experiences are individual, and this was his, not everyone's collectively. So I'm not sure what you mean about it being an enabling view. Could you explain?
