I stand corrected. Point taken.
We didn't do as you stated for a variety of reasons - we were so sick of how we had wasted so many years we wanted to forget the whole thing and as stated earlier we have many obligations with our large family.
Probably we should have done exactly as you indicate. Instead we thought we could look to the future and I guess naively thought the past would disappear.
And so we got very busy with supporting ourselves, working and getting our degrees. 4 B's and 26 A's to get my degree at my age, plus working, etc. maybe was what I put myself through for "therapy" to erase the thought of how stupid we were to have staying in the Family as long as we did.
