I'd differentiate here a bit: Berg thought he was the mouthpiece of God...for one to the world: Gp-version...other stuff strictly for DFO & DO audience. Also I think he differentiated about ex cathedra-"talking"/"prophecying" & all his chats, where he was not so dogmatic about it...
So when he said "risky" stuff, which he was in illusion about to be from God, he didn't care if people were with him or not, whether it reached the public sooner or later or not...he saw the risk, but in that he had a "weird" courage...if then he had to flee for his unrighteousness he
let to be published, he thought it was persecution for the righteousness of his kind.He was mixed up, wrong wired, his moral compass out of tune etc.
So he knew about the risks & costs & prided himself about having to "suffer" that life of a
"prophet on the constant move"...even if later it became a drag for him & he did seem a bit tired of it.
So in a way he always considered to have troubles with backsliders, but by experience they were all pretty harmless for himself personally...rather the little people etc had to take the brunt..
