I can't comment on after 1976 - as I said, I stayed with Dave and Cherrie and family in 1976 while on a road trip to Broken Hill. My understanding is his direct involvement with COG was sometime before this - before I joined. But, yes, his modus operandi was very similar to COG - even anticipating some later changes such as allowing members to hold jobs (ie his journalism). I honestly know nothing more than that.
