Hey my hats off to you. Quite an accomplishment.
As it goes with books, I'm guessing you probably knew for a long time you might do it but then the time was right and you just buckled under and got it done.
What was it like approaching publishers? Was your work heavily edited? Did they try to tell you to take out certain arts and throw in more juicy bits so it would sell. I hope my questions aren't offensive because I'm not suggesting your integrity was compromised. I just want to know about the nuts and bolts of it all, what the business is like, because I want to be published some day as well. If you have any helpful tips, please let me know.
