I wonder if they still give visas to people that have done the CELTA but don't have a bachelor's degree.
In the ELT community (ELT=English Language Teaching), language teacher's who don't have any qualifications are known as "backpackers". That'd be the category almost all Family members fit into who've gotten jobs teaching English. It's the number one thing they do to get visas in China that's for sure. I didn't know they were big on it in Thailand too.
