We can disagree on the long term (over many generations) results of brainwashing but you are right about sites like this and xfam. But as the other post says, we also need to be more specific in the reporting of facts. It is not that they are not taken seriously but are less effective in pinpointing the perpetrators.
I don't think things are going to get easier for TF as long as there are victims alive and they are willing to keep coming out of their silence. The only lesson I see is what Montiel appeared to have as a goal, to show that child abuse and cult proselitism is a prevalent problem across the board and that people need to get educated on those issues.
That is a step in the right direction but does not do much to help victims get justice.
