If you move the 'base target="mainbottomFrame"' line in genx_leftmenu.htm to head where it belongs, the left menu will work in IE7.
I would far rather see fixes for IE's real problems than have the browser maintain compatibility with invalid code. It's pretty clear from the links posted that with these frameset issues IE7 is typically treating a coding error differently than before.
