OK, I have to admit I love fireworks. I like to be right beneath them so they look like they are streaming back down towards me. One year I got that kind of position, on a fourth of July fireworks display.
It was so beautiful. I can imagine how for some it would trigger a bad experience from the past. For me though, I just love them.
I'd like to see taxes spent on other things too, but the fact is in my city, funds for the city that don't get spent on something get returned or end up doing something stupid like setting a curb an inch back to slightly widen a road. I kid you not. A literal inch. Now that is a waste of funds. New Years Eve day the zoo should be free and it should be a pretty day and we will probably be there with the daughter and grand kids.
Meanwhile the son in law is in Iraq near Baghdad and we really are hoping he will stay safe as things escalate over there.
Also want to go see the movie "Blood Diamonds"
