The assumption was based on trust

Just my opinion, with the understanding we are trying to solve the problem and not add to it.

Using your analogy, I'd be flattered if kids too young to know better just assumed I was so nice they thought they could play in my yard. It means I'm not an old freak they are scared of.

It's a question of entitlement.

It's also a question of betrayal of trust we all suffered under the Family.

Based on your board's promo "this forum is intended to be an open and welcoming place," and the fact that NDN is supposed to be an ex-member site, shouldn't it be flattering that newcomer ex-members assume they are welcome by default? They assumed they were welcome enough they could go ahead and post something asking for your support. They were so trusting they assumed you would trust them back, never once believing you'd turn their request into a bad thing.

Just asking, but are there any stated rules against advertising on your site?
