Not sure there is really any quibble. Someone can make a statement and when you get deep into analyzing it you can find discrepancies or ways it is different and it is. But I can see how a person in a cult could make that statement since normal is defined by the ultimate authority.
Regarding Cruise, while it is true that he is richer than ever and not beyond having influence he has lost a lot by his association to Scientology imo. As far as movies go, I like to watch most of his movies. I think he is a great actor. I was mad when I heard he was cast as LeStat in Interview With a Vampire. He did a great job in that film. Didn't think it was his best film by any means. I thought the re-make of "War of The Worlds" was excellent though the reviews it got weren't great.
Scientology seems to be around for the long haul and has probably been more successful than most in reaching deep into the fabric of society.
Moon is almost richer than god. He has bought the media out in so many places. That was a smart move for a control freak. It's hard for criticism to take hold when you're a billionaire or gazillionaire.
Hey, I am also a Dakota Fanning fan. Loved her in "Man on Fire" too. She and Denzel were great together.
